What is CBT

CBT For You is based in Barston, near Knowle in Solihull.  We specialise in offering high quality CBT and other psychological interventions to people who are struggling with the way they feel in Knowle and Dorridge, Solihull, Birmingham and in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy which is proven to be effective in the treatment of common mental health disorders and it is recommended by NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).   Our clinical team has over 25 years of experience delivering clinical psychological interventions within the NHS and in Private Practice.

At CBT For You, our therapists are invested in the people we work with.   Our aim is to provide the highest standards and quality of service and care to clients.  Our therapists meet with all expectations of the professional organisations they are accredited too.  Including the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

The National Institute of Clinical Care (NICE) recommends CBT for the treatment of:

*Depression *Anxiety *Low mood *OCD *PTSD *Health Anxiety *Social Anxiety *Specific Phobias *GAD/Excessive Worrying *Perfectionism *Work Stress *Stress in Teens *Low Self-Esteem *PTSD *Pain *Long Term Health Conditions *Anger Issues.

CBT focuses on the relationship between our thoughts (beliefs), how we think and what we think; our emotions/feelings and our behaviour.  CBT brings into focus how our emotions ‘show up’ physiologically in our bodies and how this can affect our thoughts and feelings.

looking at how we behave as a result of what we are thinking and feeling opens up opportunities for change.’

At CBT For You we use our experience to adapt psychological therapies to the individual.  We believe teaching our clients how to attend to what is important to them will facilitate a sense of purpose and change.  Helping our clients to develop the skills to attend to their thoughts and feelings will give our clients the tools they need to move forward in life.

At CBT For You, our aim is to work collaboratively with all of our clients to help them make choices to move towards their best lives.  Our therapists are directed by their own personal values of care, compassion and a desire to help others, to achieve this aim.
